MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP -- In preparation for a new traffic pattern in Marquette Township, the Michigan Department of Transportation has installed new traffic lights at the intersection of Commerce Drive and US-41.

The new signal is currently operating in flashing mode, with an amber caution light flashing for US-41 traffic and a flashing red stop signal for Commerce Drive traffic.

After two weeks in flashing mode, the signal will be fully operational, providing green, amber, and red signals for traffic at the intersection.

At that time, the nearby traffic signal at the Westwood Mall entrance will be shut off and removed.

Through traffic on Commerce Drive won't be open until the new signal is fully operational.
