MARQUETTE -- Marquette residents enjoyed a pancake breakfast Saturday morning all for a good cause.

Northern Michigan University's Chapter of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority hosted an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast to raise money for diabetes research.

This is the first time the sorority has hosted a breakfast, and they were pleased with the results.  Their initial goal was to raise $200, but they surpassed it quickly.

"It's going really well.  People seem to really enjoy it, and so far we've had a lot of people just giving donations or even just coming," said Soroity Philantrophy Chair, Molly Grala.

The sorority hopes to hold pancake breakfasts or spaghetti dinners once a semester to raise money for diabetes research.
