MARQUETTE -- You may have noticed it already, gas prices have soared, and they may be creeping over three dollars a gallon in the next day or so.
What reason is there for such drastic increase? First, a fire at a refinery in Illinois, and second, the move by the Federal Reserve this week to pump $600 billion into the economy.
That drives down the value of the dollar and frequently increases prices.
Stations in Marquette Friday afternoon were selling unleaded for $2.98 a gallon. For a more extensive look at gas prices in your area, check out our Pump Patrol page.
