Just over two weeks remain before two Marquette residents depart for a six-week adventure in Antarctica.
MARQUETTE -- Filmakers John Major and Frida Waara are making the trip as part of their project "Condition One."
David Cshieding from Munising has been there, he worked in Antarctica four seasons in the heavy equipment sector of a research facility.
This video was taken at a similar facility, showing just how severe a "Condition One" storm can get.
"If you follow the rules you should be ok, but it's a climate there that if you break away from the rules - or try to- you know, do things against the grain and you get trapped somewhere it can hurt you," Cshieding says.
Condition One is a film investigating and comparing the extreme envirnoments people live in in Antarctica and in Detroit.
The two are currently preparing their camera gear for the trip - they say they can't even record on tapes - the weather is so cold, they tend to crack.
