SAULT STE. MARIE -- More information has been received about the death of a Sault Ste. Marie baby this week.
In a press release from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Department, they were called to a home on the 1100 block of East 8th Avenue, just before 4 a.m. Thursday morning.
The initial call was for a baby who was not breathing. The six month old was later pronounced dead.
After an investigation, police arrested 27-year-old Charles Cook II.
The Sault man was arraigned on a charge of open murder Thursday in Chippewa County District Court.
Cook remains lodged in the Chippewa County Jail.
