EBEN -- The Seven Winds Energy Group invited residents of Alger County to the Superior Central School library for a community wind farm meeting.

The Seven Winds Energy Group represents residents of seven communities in Alger County.

The goal of the meeting was provide information and answer questions about possible wind farms in the area.

The featured speaker was Alan O'Shea, one of the original founders the American Wind Energy Association and owner of Environmental Energy Incorporated.

O'Shea maintained that a wind farm is not that different from the current farms in alger county.

"It is a form of farming, it's just a different form of farming and the agro biz folks can probably understand this better than any of the urban folks," said O'Shea.

The proposed project would consist of 58 power plants placed on over 8,000 acres, capable of creating up to two mega watts each.
