COPPER COUNTRY -- Police in the Copper Country spend a lot of time on the streets, but this week they spent a few hours in the classroom, brushing up on the basics.
The training isn't mandatory, but Sergeant Dean York still travels through the state offering training through a grant.
On Thursday morning, York met with area supervisors, offering a refresher course on the proper way to fill out accident reports. Supervisors aren't the only people the sergeant trains with, he also spends time with younger officers, which he did earlier this week.
Although the training is not mandatory, York says it's good for all officers to brush up on the changing methods every few years.
