IRON MOUNTAIN -- What started off as a small get together among businesses in Iron Mountain has turned into one of the city's biggest events.

Saturday's Harvest on Hughitt celebration had one of the biggest turnouts in its history with more than 2,000 people in attendance.

Add in the great weather and more vendors participating than ever before, this year's Harvest on Hughitt was a big success.

"Independent businesses can do very successful promotions, and that's one of the things that we really try to promote with the Iron Mountain Street Downtown Development Authority," said Iron Mountain Main Street Coordinator Jonathan Ringel.  "The event started with some merchants on Hughitt Street--it's grown into one of our largest events, spilling into adjourning streets and neighborhoods." 

Ringel says the city may need to look into expanding Harvest on Hughitt next year onto more streets.
