MARQUETTE -- The Commerce Drive construction that's been causing some congestion on US-41 is reaching its halfway point this week.  The median dividing US-41 will be finished within the next few days and the inner lanes will re-open.  When that is finished, workers will then close the outer lanes to work on the curbs.

"The weather has been perfect, and the contractors are doing wonderfully and doing things ahead of schedule because the weather's been so nice," said Jim Iwanicki, Engineering Manager.

The project will extend Commerce Drive all the way to Brookton Road.  The stoplight will be moved from the mall entrance to the intersection of Commerce Drive and US-41 to accommodate the extension.

The project is set to be completed by November 12, provided everything keeps going smoothly and the weather permits.
