Parents, teachers and daycare providers gathered
MARQUETTE -- The early years of a child's life are critical for developing skills that will last a lifetime.
Parents, teachers, and daycare providers attended the 9th annual Upper Peninsula Association for the Education of Young Children's Conference.
This year's keynote speaker was Daniel Hodgins who spoke about the importance of getting kids outside and working as a team. He hoped attendees would be able to take a strong message away from his speeches.
"We know that the more we focus on early childhood development, they have a strong foundation, they'll do better in school later on, they'll have more successful opportunities, relationships, so the earlier we start with that kind of positive instruction, the better it is for children and families all over," said Hodgins.
One hundred professionals from all over the U.P. attended the conference.
