One person dead, others injured
CHIPPEWA COUNTY -- A downstate woman is dead after a car crash in Chippewa County.
According to the Michigan State Police in Newberry, it happened at the intersection of M-28 and M-123 Wednesday afternoon at 12:50 p.m.
Eight-three-year-old Neva Flak was the passenger in a car which pulled into the path of an oncoming pickup truck. The car was hit broadside, and both people in the car were hurt.
Flak later died from her injuries.
The names of the others involved in the crash have not been released, and the incident remains under investigation.
