MARQUETTE -- The Brain Tumor Center at Marquette General Hospital could win a quarter of a million dollars.
The center is currently in third place in the entire nation for the $250,000 Pepsi Refresh Grant. The purpose of the Pepsi Refresh Grant is to fund ideas that change the world.
Dr. Richard Rovin of the Brain Tumor Center says if they win the grant, it'll go toward improving the quality of life for people with brain cancer and their caregivers.
"We're doing some basic science research all aimed at understanding better quality of life issues and how they impact on survival and response to treatment for patients with brain tumors," explains Rovin.
They'll win the grant if they come in first or second place.
