Volunteers needed in the Lake of the Clouds scenic area
SILVER CITY -- If you'd like to get outdoors this weekend and help the U.P.'s environment, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has a job for you.
Officials are looking for volunteers to help with restoration of native vegetation and erosion control in the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, specifically the Lake of the Clouds scenic area.
The area contains rare stands of virgin timber, miles of wild rivers, and black bears.
