Suspect headed to Columbia County

BARAGA COUNTY -- A Wisconsin man is lodged in the Baraga County jail and may be on his way back to Wisconsin.

According to the Baraga Tribal Police, 35-year-old Jeremy W. Chapman of Portage, Wisconsin, was arrested last week after he allegedly went into someone's house without their permission.

We're still tracking down what local charges were brought against him.

Chapman posted bond and was later taken back into custody after police discovered he was wanted in Colombia County, Wisconsin.

Chapman allegedly sexually assaulted a Portage woman in July and has charges of second degree sexual assault on an intoxicated victim.

The Wisconsin Circuit Court Website shows he had additional felony charges filed against him.
