Khana Khazana came back to MTU

HOUGHTON -- Khana Khazana is back at Michigan Tech and everyone who sampled Friday's exotic cuisine also supported a good cause.

Hundreds of students and staff waited patiently in a long line to try Friday afternoon's Pakistani meal consisting of chicken biryani, rice and vegetable samosa.

Half of the meal's proceeds will be donated to flood victims in Pakistan.  Organizers were thrilled with the large turnout but also scrambling to make more food.

"I was shocked because we opened at 11 a.m. and sold more than 30 dishes in the first five minutes," said Founder of Khana Khazana Sahil Thakkar.  "All of the students are really excited."

The international lunches will be held every Friday throughout the semester and will likely include more fundraisers.
