IRONWOOD -- Update

The natural gas leak on Lake Street has been shut off. 

Homes are being checked by Xcel Energy for safety.

Citizens will be notified when it is safe to return to the area.

There’s a large natural gas line leak in Ironwood.

Homes in the area are being evacuated.  Lake Street is closed from US-2 to Margaret Street.  Ironwood Public Safety is rerouting traffic.

Please stay away from the area.  The number of homes affected is currently unknown.

Evacuees are being sent to the Memorial Building in Ironwood.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
