Hemp and Cannabis Foundation hosts clinic
MARQUETTE -- Twenty medical conditions in the state of Michigan qualify patients to receive medical marijuana.
The Hemp and Cannabis Foundation assists patients in filling out the paperwork to qualify for medicinal marijuana. Friday, they held an open clinic in Marquette, and they expect to see 50 to 60 patients.
In order to file for the prescription, patients must come in with medical records proving they have one of the qualifying conditions and then must meet with a doctor who discusses their case with them.
"I was skeptical, as a lot of physicians are, about the use of this medication, but in the first six months, I saw relatively small numbers of patients who got dramatic results," said Dr. Paul Meyer MD.
If the doctor signs the permit, patients then file paperwork with the Michigan Medical Marijuana Program. For more information about the foundation, click here.
