School starts Monday
IRON MOUNTAIN -- With the start of school just around the corner, Bay College West in Iron Mountain is experiencing something new. Consistency.
For the first time since the school moved into it's new building in 2007, Bay West student enrollment has stayed at the same level as the previous year.
Around 750 students are enrolled for the fall semester, but administrators expect that number to rise slightly when student registration continues next week. Over the last three years, Bay West has doubled its enrollment.
"Twenty to 25 percent every year is probably too high of a goal to expect, but we are holding where we were, kind of in our peak area, and we'll still be registering students next week," said Executive Dean, Dr. Patrick Kennedy.
Kennedy says he's hoping enrollment will grow in the five percent range in the future.
Bay classes begin on Monday.
