Glenn Wilson stops near Negaunee
MARQUETTE -- First Congressional District candidate, Glenn Wilson from Rose City, is running as an independent. He's running against Republican candidate Dan Benishek and Democrat and State Representative Gary McDowell.
Tuesday afternoon Wilson dropped by TV6's studio to share why he is in the race. He says both parties have failed miserably, and his goal is to build jobs in northern Michigan, repeal Obamacare, stop out of control spending, and secure and protect U.S. borders.
Wilson also believes his experience as an entrepreneur and small business owner sets him apart from his opponents.
"Both sides want me out of this race...both sides are telling me that I'm stealing votes from their party," said Wilson. "Well it's not their party, it's the people's, and that's what we need to represent so that's why I'm in this race."
Wilson plans to visit all 31 counties in the 1st Congressional District between now and November 2.
