David Leyton in Escanaba
ESCANABA -- The race for the State Attorney General is underway, and campaigning was done today in Upper Michigan.
The Democratic candidate, David Leyton, was in Escanaba Wednesday afternoon meeting members of the community.
Leyton is currently the Genesee County Prosecutor and is most recently known for his role in the case of Elias Abuelazam, the serial stabber.
Leyton plans to focus on leading public safety and protecting the Michigan environment.
"We have to protect those Great Lakes," said Leyton. "We have to make sure the Asian Carp are eradicated. We have to close the Chicago shipping canal. We have to make sure the beautiful land in the U.P. is maintained and the air quality is maintained."
David Leyton will be continuing his tour in the U.P. this week by visiting Marquette, Munising, Sault Ste. Marie, and St Ignace.
