To play Guts Frisbee

MARQUETTE -- Sunday was the last day of the U.S. National Guts Frisbee Tournament at Hurley Field in Marquette.

Guts teams have five players, each standing 45 feet apart.  The goal is to throw the Frisbee as hard as you can so the other team can't catch it.

Organizers say the turnout this year was good, and this is the tournament, out of all of them, that attracts the most fans.

There weren't as many teams participating as they had originally hoped, but the 12 teams played well and, most importantly, had fun.

"We did okay, we learned a lot, we all did alright.  We weren't in last place though," said a member of The Young Guns.

"One of the things we're trying to do is get younger kids to play; we're all getting older and we had a team of young 11 (and) 12 year olds, and we also have a lot of people who have their sons playing, myself included, both boys, so it was very exciting," said Tournament Director, Dan Gannon.

The final Guts Frisbee Tournament of the year will be held downstate in Sterling Heights over Labor Day weekend.
