This 2010 ambulance has several convenience features for emergency personnel
FORSYTH TWP. -- This state-of-the-art, 2010 ambulance has several convenience features for emergency personnel. For one thing, it's much larger than ambulances the township has operated in the past. It's also got a hydraulic system that lowers the vehicle to make it easier to load patients.
Township officials say it was a necessary investment because it's important to have a reliable ambulance with low mileage.
"We were able to purchase it with a combination of a grant, which we received from the USDA, and that funded 25 percent of it, and then the other 75 percent was a combination of a millage and money that the township had set aside to purchase a new ambulance," says Kary Sheldon of Forsyth Twp. EMS.
Forsyth EMS is responsible for emergency transfers in Forsyth Township, Wells Township, and part of KI Sawyer.
