MARQUETTE -- Smoothing Lakeshore Boulevard between Hawley and Wright Streets is right on schedule according to city leaders.
Crews are gearing up to smooth the boulevard Thursday.
Thursday afternoon crews will be filling in potholes and other irregularities in the pavement. The boulevard will be open two to three weeks after this work is completed.
Shortly after the two to three week period, a final layer of asphalt will be applied. It will be the final step of the project.
This section of Lakeshore Boulevard is scheduled to reopen for good in August.
