Air National Guard Band of the Midwest tours da U.P.
MARQUETTE -- Patriotic tunes echoed along Lake Superior in Marquette Thursday night.
The Air National Guard Band of the Midwest, out of Peoria, Illinois, is touring the Upper Peninsula for the next two weeks, and Thursday night, they joined forces with the Marquette City Band
An estimated 300 people came out to the Lower Harbor for the concert.
The city band also made use of a brand new performance tent which has adopted the name "UP Tent," as in Upper Peninsula.
"It's a great accoustic venue, and tonight is the first live performance without amplification underneath the tent, and so far, it's been really great. It's got great accoustics, and it's a really nice area for our performers," said Marquette City Band Director, Matt Ludwig.
The city band's next performance is Thursday, August 5, on Presque Isle.
