The exact cause of death is still unknown pending autopsy results

GARFIELD TOWNSHIP -- A Wisconsin man drowned in Lake Michigan Saturday afternoon in a swimming accident.

It happened in Garfield Township in Mackinac County, near the top of the lake rest area, around 1 p.m.

Fifty-five-year-old James Savage of Stevens Point, Wisconsin is believed to have entered the water to swim and possibly struck his head on a rock, causing the accident and resulting in his drowning.

Savage's exact cause of death is unknown pending autopsy results.
