HARVEY -- Endorsements are flowing in for Michigan's gubernatorial candidates as they wrap up their last few weeks of campaigning before next month's primary.

Republican candidate Pete Hoekstra has been a frontrunner in the polls and this week received endorsements from Mitt Romney, a former governor, and Dr. James Dobson, among others.

Hoekstra brought his campaign to the U.P. Saturday evening with a stop in Harvey at Wahlstrom's Restaurant.  Hoekstra used the town hall meeting to address concerns and answer questions from constituents.

"I want to bring Michigan together," says Hoekstra.  "There's concern about east versus west, the Lower Peninsula versus the Upper Peninsula.  I'm going to be a governor for all of the state--not a part of the state--a governor that represents and understands the interests, the opportunities, and the challenge of the entire state."

Hoekstra also says his business background, political experience, and plan, if elected, all set him apart from the other candidates.

The primary election is August 3.
