ESCANABA -- The Computer Aided Design, or CAD, Team at Bay College in Escanaba has done it again.  Tuesday night, they set yet another world record...the world's largest working yo-yo.

It was a happy day for the seven member CAD Team who's worked on the 11 foot 6 inch giant for the past four months.  Despite its size, which was officially measured by judges, the yo-yo had to function in order to get the world record.

It was dropped from 90 feet and worked without a hitch.  Team members couldn't be happier.

"After four months of doing this, it's really great to see the completion and just a really large feeling of joy," explained Team Leader, Ryan Fairbanks.

Over a hundred spectators gathered to watch the yo-yo drop.  All were quite impressed with what the team had accomplished.

"My kids loved it," said spectator, Sara Trombley.  "They thought it was great this is going to be in the Guinness Book of World Records.  What an awesome experience for everyone involved."

"It was cool," explained spectator, Tyler Hampton.  "I love giant yo-yos."

Yo-Yo Factory, which manufactures yo-yos out of Arizona, helped fund the project.  They, too, felt this was quite an accomplishment.

"We use technology in our yo-yos, so when we heard about this project, the technology aspect certainly appealed to us, and we wanted to be behind it," said Brand Manager, Ben McPhee.

The CAD Team currently has the yo-yo up for sale.  They've seen interest from yo-yo museums from as far as San Francisco.  They hope to sell the yo-yo for at least $6,000 and the majority of those funds will go toward local charities.
