PAAC theater the beneficiary
NEGAUNEE -- Just like the Vista Theatre, the Carp River Gardens in Negaunee is a U.P. hidden gem.
That's why the Peninsula Arts Appreciation Council chose it for their garden tour fund-raiser Tuesday night.
Owners Jim Somers and Mike Wirtanen hosted the event. They hoped to bring in at least $500. Money raised will go to restoration and operating costs for the Vista Theatre in Negaunee.
It's the first year for the garden tours and officials say, fund-raisers like Tuesday's is what keeps the theatre open.
The event was scheduled for last Sunday, but got rained out.
