Allegedly stole casino winnings from elderly woman

A Greenland Township man is maintaining his innocence to allegedly stealing casino winnings from an elderly woman.

Edward Allan Majurin, 18, is charged with four counts:  first degree home invasion, larceny of $20,000 or more, breaking and entering with intent, and larceny from a building.

These stem from an incident in May when a Wakefield woman called police after someone broke into her home and stole her purse, which had winnings from the casino in it.

Police arrested Majurin and say they recovered nearly $25,000.  He plead not guilty to all four counts in Ontonagon County Circuit Court.

He will be back in court on August 2.

A second man, Dayne Michael Pulkas of Toivola, was arrested for being an accessory after the fact and concealing stolen property.
