MARQUETTE -- Two opponents of the Kennecott Mine will be going to trial in August.

Charlotte Loonsfoot and Chris Chosa are both charged with trespassing at the site of the mine in May.

Tuesday, at a preliminary hearing in Marquette County District Court in Ishpeming, they were offered a range of plea agreements on the charge.  They both chose to go to a jury trial instead.

Chosa will go on trial on August 3 and Loonsfoot will be tried on August 4.

Demonstrators stood outside the courthouse with signs opposing the Kennecott mine.
