Three thousand of them will be prepared with just that many people expected to come out Sunday
MARQUETTE -- Drive-thrus at our favorite restaurants are fairly common, but how about a drive-thru at the the annual Kiwanis Chicken BBQ fund-raiser in Marquette? That's what you'll find this weekend.
You'll also be able to dine-in or carry-out your chicken. Three thousand of them will be prepared with just that many people expected to come out Sunday.
It's the major fund-raiser of the year for the Marquette Kiwanis Club. President James Goresky says apart from helping 60 organizations, the event is a great way to get to know people in the community over a hot meal.
"You get to visit, have some entertainment, and at the same time, the money you pay for the meal is going back to the community to help the people around you and help the community in general," said Goresky, Kiwanis Club President.
The chicken bar-b-que will be held at the Lakeview Arena on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are an $8 donation for adults and $6 for kids.
