LANSING -- The Kennecott Mine controversy reached Lansing Tuesday.

A few dozen environmental activists and Native Americans gathered at the Capitol to lobby against the mine and to present Governor Granholm with petitions against it.

The activities were peaceful.  No arrests were made.

Back in the U.P., Kennecott continues with its preparations for building the nickel and copper mine.

Two activists return to court on June 15 on charges of trespassing at the mine site.
