The tunnel will provide easy access across the highway
HARVEY -- The Michigan Department of Transportation began construction Tuesday for a new pedestrian tunnel under US-41/M-28 in Harvey.
The tunnel will provide easy access across the highway about 300 feet south of the Main Street intersection.
This work is being done in conjunction with construction of a new non-motorized path from the Michigan Welcome Center to the Chocolay River.
Work on the tunnel will shift northbound traffic on US-41 over to one of the southbound lanes for the first six weeks of the project.
