CALUMET TOWNSHIP -- A Houghton County man is in jail after attempting to evade police on his motorcycle.

It happened around 2 a.m. Saturday morning when state police troopers from the Calumet Post observed an off-road motorcycle with two people on it, driving on Mine Street near 6th Street Extension in Calumet Township.

The 32-year-old male driver was not wearing a helmet, and the motorcycle did not have a light on.
