No more camping on Eagle Rock. That's the message from Kennecott to protesters of the nickel and copper mine.

Two people were arrested Thursday morning for trespassing on Kennecott Minerals leased property in the Yellow Dog plains.  According to Save the Wild UP, those people are Charlotte Loonsfoot and Chris Chosa.  They're part of a group of protestors that's been camping at the base of Eagle Rock since April.

For the past few days, Kennecott has been working on a fence around the 120-acre property.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Kennecott verbally requested that the campers leave the site before the fence was completed.  The four campers that remained were given a third verbal request as well as a written request to vacate.  Two left the property peacefully; two did not.

Kennecott says it's willing to let the protestors camp out and continue protesting on adjacent property that's also controlled by Kennecott.
