About 25 people showed up to the rally to show their opposition for the mine
MARQUETTE -- Mine protestors rallied outside the post office early Thursday afternoon in response to recent arrests made at Eagle Rock.
About 25 people showed up to the rally to show their opposition for the mine and their support for those who were recently arrested for trespassing, including two Eagle Rock campers.
Protestors say its unfair that campers were kicked off the land near Eagle Rock as it is state land, land which has precious water that needs to be protected.
"I gave up everything to protect the water--everybody needs water," said Charlotte Loonsfoot, KBIC member.
Loonsfoot was also one of two campers arrested at the mine site earlier in the day on Thursday.
Protestors say they will continue to rally outside the post office until their message is heard by Kennecott.
