ESCANABA -- You may have seen them traveling down US-2 Monday.  Over a dozen bike riders with the Chicago Fire Department are making their way around Lake Michigan in an effort to bike to fight pediatric cancer.

Monday was day 7 of a 12-day trip.  The entire ride is about 950 miles.  Escanaba was their final stop Monday.  They planned to hop back on their bikes and make their way south Tuesday.

They hope to raise over $50,000 and expect to arrive in Chicago on Saturday.

"We started in Chicago, traveled through Indiana, all the way up Michigan, coming through the U.P. and going back down through Wisconsin to raise money for pediatric cancer.  Each bike rider raised money on his own and everything, and we have donations coming in all the time," said retired Fire Chief, Ed Porter.
