Lahti serves Michigan's 110th House District representing the U.P. in Lansing
NEGAUNEE -- State Representative Mike Lahti is the only Democratic candidate running for the 38th District Senate seat currently held by Mike Prusi.
Right now, Lahti serves Michigan's 110th House District, representing the U.P. in Lansing. His campaign focus is to create jobs, particularly in Baraga and Ontonagon.
He says his extensive business background gave him the experience he needs to fund economic development.
"We're working together with the federal government, kicking in some money to fund an economic developer who's going to spend most of their time there in Ontonagon and also some time in Baraga," said Mike Lahti, State Representative (D).
Lahti says he wants to work with the community to come up with ideas of bringing in business to try to make up for local job losses.
