Authorities are investigating the string of break-ins and collecting evidence

HOUGHTON -- The Houghton Police Department is investigating several break-ins throughout the Pearl Street Mall in East Houghton.

The Java Shop, Carmelita's, JJ's Wok & Grill and The College Bookshelf were broken into late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

No word yet on whether or not anything was stolen.  Authorities are collecting evidence from all four businesses.

They are also asking for help from the public.  If anyone has any information regarding these break-ins or was in the area during these times, they are asked to call the Houghton Police Department at (906) 482-2121.
