GLADSTONE -- One Upper Peninsula high school will soon be using the sun's energy to its advantage.

Tuesday, Energy Works Michigan awarded Gladstone High School with a grant to participate in the Michigan Renewable Schools Program, which means they'll soon be studying and using solar energy.

The school will receive a 2 kilowatt solar P.V. array on an awning, along with a weather station with online monitoring equipment.

The program is aimed at bringing energy efficiency, renewable energy improvements, and education to Michigan schools.
