MARENISCO TOWNSHIP -- Five people are recovering after being rescued in Marenisco Township early Monday morning.

The Gogebic County Sheriff's Department reports that the family had been driving on the Ethelwood Grade on Sunday and turned off onto a logging trail.  Their vehicle got stuck in the mud, and they had to walk to get cell phone service.

The rescue call came in at about 6:37 Sunday night, and rescue crews headed out to find them.

Using the cell phone signal and description of the area, rescuers found the group about seven miles down the Ethelwood Grade.  They were brought out at about 12:45 Monday morning.

Three teens were in good condition, but two adults needed to be transported out by rescue sled.

All five were taken to Grandview Hospital for evaluation.
