It's the largest religion-based conferences in the U.P.

MARQUETTE -- Things will be heating up this weekend at Lakeview Arena.

Setup was underway this morning for Fire Up, the largest religion-based youth conference in the U.P.  This is the 24th year for the event which will have music, speakers, and breakout sessions for both teenagers and adults. Organizers are sure attendees will take away a positive message.

"Our theme is missions theme this year.  We are hoping that people will really learn a deeper meaning of what missions is all about and how they can get involved in their own towns, their own neighborhood, and maybe even start an interest of nationwide and worldwide missions," says Director Jill Seppala.

Doors open Friday night for the conference at 6 p.m.  It runs again tomorrow from 8:30 a.m until 9 p.m.
