RAPID RIVER -- Due to quick action by local fire departments, a home in Masonville Township was saved from serious damage Thursday afternoon.

Crews were called to the home shortly before 2 p.m. to a fire that was quickly spreading.

Crews were able to maintain the fire to one portion of the home, however, they say the roof will need to be replaced.

The owner of the home believes the fire started around the wood stove.

Fortunately, no one was injured.
