The procedure showed some heart degeneration and liver congestion
Michigan's only known wild wolverine apparently died of natural causes.
That's according to results released Tuesday by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
The procedure showed some heart degeneration and liver congestion, but no sign of infection or trauma.
The body of the 28 lb. female wolverine was found in March along a trail in lower Michigan's thumb area.
The wolverine serves as the state's mascot and for the University of Michigan's sports teams.
