You could push them to the top
HOUGHTON COUNTY -- The Copper Country Humane Society has made it to second place in the Animal Rescue Site's $100,000 Shelter Challenge, and they're asking the community to help them get to the top during the last two weeks.
The Houghton shelter has dozens of cats and dogs to feed and care for which is why they're thrilled to be so close to the $10,000 grand prize.
Even though they got into the competition about a month late, voters in the Upper Peninsula and across the country have helped the shelter already win $1,000 and may just push them to number one.
"It's fantastic for a community this small to have this many people supporting us and voting everyday. It's the most wonderful thing we could think of for the community to be able to help us get this money," said shelter volunteer, Carla Belopavlovich.
The competition ends April 18.
People can vote once each day to help the shelter win.
