City of Crystal Falls hopes to sell course
CRYSTAL FALLS -- Early spring weather has caused an unexpected change in the city of Crystal Falls. The city is looking at opening the Crystal View Golf Course this year as early as the middle of April.
Members of the city council voted in February to sell or lease the golf course due to Crystal Falls deteriorating financial situation.
The city said it has a responsibility to open the course as they continue to try to sell or lease it.
"We've got so much invested out there that it would be just a shame, it would actually be a slap in the face to the people if we let it go to ruins," said Crystal Falls City Manager, Dorothea Olson. "I don't want that to happen. I think that it's something that we can maybe break even on at the worst this year."
A decision on when the course will open is expected to be announced at the April 12 City Council meeting.
