SAGINAW -- A solar cell maker says it'll use a $141 million federal loan guarantee to build a plant in downstate Saginaw County.
It will directly employ about 500 people.
The Norcross, Georgia-based company, Suniva, says the U.S. Department of Energy chose the project under a program that promotes energy efficiency and renewable energy.
The company makes monocrystalline silicon solar cells and modules.
