ROYAL OAK -- A petition drive to put a measure on the November ballot that could ask Michigan voters whether they want to exempt the state from the federal health care overhaul is being launched.
The rally is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. in front of William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
Rochester Hills republican State Representative Tom McMillin says he's being joined by tea party groups and grassroots organization leaders in kicking off the effort.
The drive to amend Michigan's constitution is patterned after Arizona's effort, which has been placed in that that state's ballot.
McMillin says organizers will seek the needed 381,000 valid signatures by July 5.
