NEGAUNEE -- Think you've got a sharp shot?
Some Upper Michigan residents put themselves to the test Saturday at the Negaunee Rod and Gun Club Frigid 300 Pistol Match.
More than 50 people came out for the match, putting their marskmanship to the test.
Participants fired 30 rounds total, each worth up to ten points.
But they didn't just stand in one place, or fire at leisure.
Contestants fired from 10, 15, and 20 yards, and there were time limits from each distance.
Organizers wanted to stress it can be a hobby for anyone.
Rod and Gun Club member Ken Goldsworthy says, "If you're doing something responsible with your firearms instead of watching TV and seeing the irresponsibilty, it's just a lot more fun. If people would come out and watch it and then try it, once you've seen it, you try it one time, you're going to be coming back because it is a ball."
Ken Goldsworthy took home the first prize in the auto and revolver categories.
Diane Savolainen won the women's category, and Bill Thexton and Bob Weisenberger won the team division.
