ESCANABA -- The Missouri man charged with robbing the Citgo gas station in Wells two years ago is headed to Delta County Circuit Court.

At Thursday's preliminary hearing, the judge bound over the case of 22-year-old Todd Midgyett.  Midgyett is charged with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.  He faces a possible life sentence if convicted.

An Escanaba woman is also charged in this case.  However, she's made a plea deal with the prosecution for her cooperation.

The Citgo employee working the night of the incident testified via phone in court Thursday.  She said she was locking up when she noticed a man approaching the door with a gun.

"The gun was pointed at me," explained Crystal Bickel.  "He was like screaming at me and I was standing there and I really didn't know what to do."

She testified the man stole cash from the safe along with her purse.

Twenty-four-year-old Emily Bonczyk is also charged in the case.  She testified that she was with Midgyett the night of the incident and drove him to Citgo.  She also testified that he gave her some of the stolen money.

While the defense pointed out that she had lied to police when interviewed previously, she stuck to her testimony.

"He had told me that he was going to go in there and rob him, rob the store," said Bonczyk.  "And how did you respond to that?" asked Prosecutor, Steve Parks.  "I wasn't happy about it, didn't want to be part of it," Bonczyk added.

The date of Midgyett's next court appearance is still pending.  In the meantime, he remains in jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
